I was skeptic about buying a penny board tbh. I used to think it was too small, too impractical, that it wouldn't turn properly... I was able to try it a couple times now and I must say I changed my mind.
This tiny little thing turns surprisingly well. Smooth ride, smooth turning, crazy light when you have to carry it, mainly made of plastic so it doesn't get ruined by the rain.... It has everything it needs.
Can't wait to bring it with me on a trip in a big city with bike lanes and stuff like that.
If I lived in a city that allowed me to skate on most roads, I would always have it with me. Unfortunately that's not the case, but it's Naples' fault. The penny does its job surprisingly well.
I wouldn't use it for tricks, since I'd rather use my surf skate. I imagine it would be pretty hard to try tricks on this small of a board anyway, but who knows...
Of course being this small it's not the best tool to overcome bigger imperfections in the road pavement, but one can't expect miracles either. The same goes for the speed: it's not as fast as a longboard, obviously, but it's still very fast, being this small.
(can't speak to the component quality since I've just recently bought it and used it only twice)
